Balance

Earlier this week, I was at my gym, working on a balance exercise. As I wobbled a bit on my standing leg, I reminded myself to focus my gaze on a fixed point. This is a concept that probably sounds familiar to lots of you who have practiced Yoga. Like me, maybe you’ve found it to be helpful, too. For me, focusing my gaze on a fixed point helps me to balance a bit more easefully. What a lovely metaphor for achieving and maintaining balance in life.

In life, as each of us navigates competing priorities, we can sometimes feel as though we’re a bit off balance. What are those “fixed points” that can help us to regain and maintain balance? Identifying and prioritizing based on your core values can be really helpful.

And for me, the metaphor continues. Just like in the gym, achieving better balance in so many areas - family, career, finances, and all my to-do’s - is an ongoing practice. Keep practicing, keep growing.
